BUILDING ENVELOPE CONSULTING

 

Blanco Architecture Inc is a boutique full service architectural firm specializing in building envelope consulting. We consult on new and existing buildings and provide technical design services, contract administration services, quality assurance and diagnostic fenestration testing, building envelope failure investigations, and evaluations for both new and remedial construction. We remain involved during the construction phase, checking that materials and systems are installed according to the details and specifications and perform as intended. We occasionally provide construction litigation support services for attorneys. The firm operates primarily in California, but we also work on projects in other locations around the US. Our office is in San Rafael, California.

 

We pride ourselves on understanding the capabilities and limitations of building materials and enjoy designing practical and effective solutions. We often interface with manufacturers' representatives, work with them to stay current on today's materials, and attend contractor training seminars. We have hands-on experience in construction, which translates to working well with contractors and designing practical assemblies and buildable details.

 

We have worked on a wide range of building types including multi-family, institutional, hospitality, commercial, and residential; much of our work is high-end residential. We occasionally work as the prime architect on projects such as cladding repair and replacement and re-roofing.
