Senior Project Manager/Licensed Architect or Engineer
BAI is currently seeking a senior staff member to join our team. Senior staff members will be responsible for coordinating and executing all of BAI’s building envelope consulting responsibilities on several major projects. Senior staff may supervise staff.
Qualifications:

10+ Years experience.

A Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Architecture, Engineering or an associated field.

Valid PE or architecture license.

Previous experience in building envelope consulting is a must.

Expert understanding of building systems, construction materials and methodology.

Technical expertise in building envelope design.

Well-developed understanding and design experience in roofing, waterproofing and building envelope systems.

Experience with repair, renovation, re-construction and historical restoration within the realm of architectural design and project management for commercial, residential, multi-family, public and historical projects.

Strong problem solving skills.

Experience producing architectural or engineering construction drawings in both CAD and by hand.

A good familiarity with building codes and regulations, and interfacing well with building officials.

Thorough understanding of building systems, construction materials, application and methodology.

Strong communication skills both orally and in writing, experience with technical writing is a must.

Proficiency with MS Office or Apple iWork office suites.

Familiarity with professional standards of communication including email and telephone etiquette.

An established reputation in the industry and good working relationships with industry partners.

A valid driver’s license and vehicle.

Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolds.

Construction experience.
Responsibilities:
The senior staff member will be responsible for design and consulting services for several projects. Duties will include analysis of various building conditions during design as well as materials specification and selection. The senior staff member is responsible for interaction with the client, contractor and design team during design and construction. Duties may also include on-site testing and analysis of newly constructed or existing buildings. Senior staff will take responsibility for technical writing and report production during forensic analysis of existing buildings. Staff at a senior level must be prepared to participate in depositions and litigation as a part of an expert witness team. It is vital that senior level staff take on a mentorship role within the office and serve as a technical resource for other team members staying abreast of emerging technologies and construction methodology. Technical responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Assisting in the development of design solutions specific to building envelope issues.

Coordinating with staff and clients, contract document preparation, writing technical reports, peer reviewing drawings, product and systems selections and recommendations, and litigation support.

Site investigation and testing, water intrusion and fenestration testing, site survey work and data collection.
